Description: This promised series should help rehabilitate a quite neglected Catalonian violinist-composer whose fame as a soloist was pan-European. Living in Berlin for some years at the end of the 19th and beginnings of the 20th century broadened the influences on a mostly self-taught composer too. The two largest-scale works here, Balada and Romanza amorosa, are more German in feel than Iberian.
