Description: Although most of his piano music consists of miniatures, Montsalvatge was not in the Satiesque group of Mompou and Blancafort; depending on the period in which they were written, you'll find French Impressionism, dance music, Latin American and jazz rhythms and affinites with Milhaud (polytonality) and Les Six. Vivacious and lyrical, broadly Romantic and spritely and energetic, it's all attracive stuff. Jordi Masó (piano).
