Description: The fourth of these tributes to Khrennikov contains late chamber works (post 1988) as well as the little ten-minute 1991 piano concerto. Khrennikov was as good a melodist as he was a Party toady, which means that he was a top-notch melodist indeed. Even more remarkable, of course, is that after the collapse of the USSR, he was able to stand there, still dusty from the ruins of the many composers' careers he'd helped wreck and say "Who, me?" - and get away with it.
