Description: Since Segovia often had to advise composers not familiar with the guitar on various passages in the pieces they wrote for him, telling them how to write to produce a better sound or to make something less impossible to play, it's not surprising that he occasionally wrote pieces of his own. These tend to be lyrical, meditative, melancholy in nature, devoid of flash and empty virtuosity. You might say this is a "period instrument recording" as the artist plays Segovia's own 1962 Herman Hauser II guitar. Agustín Maruri (guitar).
