Description: The second volume of (mostly) cello sonatas by this pioneer of the instrument as a solo peformer in the 18th century also includes some rare instruments: the pardessus, a small treble viol, was a reaction to the loss in popularity of the bass viol to the violin, while Cocset also uses a tenor violin in place of the cello in one cello sonata.
