Description: Hoffmann wrote his own libretto after Schlegel's recent translation of Calderón de la Barca's "La banda y flor", spinning a delightful tale of love and jealousy in this singspiel from 1807. It was never produced nor published in the composer's lifetime and received its first-ever perfromance in this recording, live from the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestpiel in July of 2008. 2 CDs.
