Description: Millöcker was one of the three top operetta composers of the late 19th century along with Johann Strauss II and Suppé and this is his most successful and most famous work. For a subject that has been filmed no fewer than four times, it's kind of amazing that there is currently no other available recording of it, leaving the field completely to this live recording from the Mörbisch Festival a mere couple of months ago.
