Description: All but the last two items listed above are from the 10s and 20s, when Malipiero was attracted to the anti-Romanticism of the futurists and they all have a dark, eerie quality which can only partly be attributed to the spooky, cavernous, echoing recording. The only item I could compare with another recording is the 1917 Barlumi ("Glimmerings") which Gorini plays much faster, giving them an obsessive and hypnotic quality completely absent from the 1993 Nuova Era release (of all early works), allowing one to assume that the other works here are getting the same interpretative treatment.
