Description: Most of this music is from Seiber’s twenties, well before his emigration to England and is packed with a youthful insouciance: tumbling over each other are wit, a cartoon-like energy and the odd insertion of a bit of quiet meditation characterized by sudden changes of dynamics, tone and texture, Hungarian rhythms reminding us that he was a student of Kodály (especially in the 1925 sextet) or was that jazz (he was the first professor of jazz in history)? No texts. Kilian Herold (clarinet), Sarah Maria Sun (soprano), Nicholas Rimmer (piano) and other artists.
