Description: 12 soprano songs, four for baritone and five piano solos, including six first recordings, are the contents of this disc devoted to some Jane Austen's favorite pieces of music. Drawn from 17 music albums which belonged to Austen and her female relations with brief notes on each piece but, unfortunately as is often the case with Dutton, no texts. The piano is an 1817 Broadwood signed by composer J.B. Cramer - the only make of piano and the only composer mentioned by Austen in "Emma".
