SERGIO RENDINE (b.1954): Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2 "Andorrana".

Description: Although he is Italian by birth, Rendine can probably claim to have written the first Andorran symphony with the Second recorded here. Each of its three movements uses Andorran folk music and, like the First (2006) is in three movements. Although the First does not use folk music, it is also constructed using the traditional symphonic form, employing the expected motivic developments and recapitulation and harmonic structures which the title "symphony" demands.
