Description: It was a nice idea gathering together such a group of heterogeneous piano pieces by American composers, from the abstract inspirations of Corigliano to the literary and artistic ones of Harbison and Bolcom, and all of the works here are fairly recent, from 1997 to 2004. But it may not be as nice for six distinguished composers to be reminded that they've turned 70 this year... Blair McMullen (piano), Sachiko Kato (second piano).
