Description: The richly orchestrated and colorful Schoenberg orchestration of Brahms' quartet from 1938 deserves to be recorded much more frequently than it has been (no piano, of course; this is Brahms' "Symphony No. 5"); Berio's 1986 orchestration of the clarinet sonata is less well-known but equally respectful of Brahms' sound world in offering us a more chamber-scale clarinet concerto.
