Description: These chamber cantatas date from as early as 1712 and possibly as late as the late 1740s. They help further the cause of a composer thought to be an equal to Handel in his own time but now sadly underappreciated. Porpora's rich melodic invention, mastery of compositional technique and keen sense of dramatic pacing are all demonstrated here and Or che d'orrido Verno comes with a brilliant part for concertante flute.
