Description: Titled "The Birth of the Cello", this release contains what cellist Berger argues are the first works for cello ever written: Degli Antonii's were published in 1687 but written as much as a dozen years earlier. Berger plays the 1655 Amati Carlo IX cello with metal wire-wrapped strings and uses a baroque bow. Julius Berger (cello).
