Description: Usually a composer of three-movement symphonies of 13-17 minutes in length, Stamitz here adds a minuet to the early Op. 2/3 and provides an unexpected programmatic symphony written at Versailles in the fall of 1772, whose movements are titled Pastorale: Le beau Matin, Le Tempête, La suit obscure and La chasse (this work has nothing to do with either of his two other symphonies which end with a Chasse).
