Description: These are substantial, virtuosic and expressively romantic works which make much use of the baroque forms of the prelude and fugue (the 35-minute Gotham Glory is in the form of Prelude, Fugue, Canon and a 17-minute finale which is a flamboyantly virtuosic paraphrase of Waldteufel's Skater's Waltz). All but the song transcription Ballad in Yellow date from 2004-08; two more volumes will follow. Neo-Romanticism at its most enjoyable! Marc Peloquin (piano).
