Description: It would appear that there's been no other recording of Krenek's Seventh Sonata (1988) since the Koch Schwann complete cycle back in the 90s (I'm usually wrong though), which is why we offer this new release. True, it's only 12 minutes long and it's dodecaphonic but it, and Glenn Gould's favorite Krenek sonata, 1943's Third, demonstrate how the composer was always a communicative artist and a lyrical artist, whether writing twelve-tone music or, as in the rest of this disc, tonal music in his early period during the 1920s. Stanislav Khristenko (piano).
