Description: These are earlier works, the two major items being the 1916 set of Serbian Tunes which Gál collected and assembled while in the Austrian army serving in the supplies department, and the 1934 neo-classical Concertino (here in the composer's own arrangment of an original for piano and string orchestra). The 1958 Marionettes (inspired by the commedia dell'arte characters) and the 1940 Impromptus are also not far from neo-classicism. Goldstone and Clemmow (piano duo).
