Description: Although he didn't number it and it was published very late (thus the high opus number), the composer never withdrew it from circulation and we are the benificiaries since his 18-year-old self was plainly intoxicated by the easy, relaxed romanticism of Grieg and Dvorák (especially the latter) and it shows in this captivating 24-minute Quartet No. 0. Dating from 1920, the Second (a world premiere recording) is a more monumental work, a 35-minute piece symphonic in nature and in fact since Isasi used the first movement in his uncompleted Symphony No. 3 and its third movement in his orchestral Suite No. 2.
