Description: One of Telemann's 22 surviving Passion settings comes from 1733, from near the end of his first Passion period when the entire narratio was set. It comes closer than his later Passions to matching Bach in the length of its arias (one of almost seven minutes, several more in the four-minute range) and features attractive mood-painting in some scenes with some obbligato accompaniments by flute and oboe in some arias.
