Description: Since there are no notes on the music, it would be well to point out that Partos' Yizkor (a Jewish prayer for dead parents) is in the same fine genre as Bloch's similarly sourced pieces; Serly's lyrical, neo-classically influenced concerto had a modern recording five years ago (11I010) and Colgrass' lyrical, brooding and dramatic work was a 1959 commission by Vardi.
