RICHARD MUDGE (1718-1763): 6 Concertos in 7 Parts, Non nobis Domine.

Description: An English cleric whose only surviving composition was published in 1749, Mudge wrote these concerti grossi in very Handelian fashion (and a preference for chromatic themes and unexpected modulations). Two of them aren't even concerti grossi as such: No. 1 has a solo trumpet part (Maurice André recorded it in 1957 as a trumpet concerto) while No. 6 is actually an organ concerto.
