Description: This completes the recording of Bazzini’s string quartets started in 2018 with the previous album (09U029). These quartets are shorter than the monumental nos. 1 and 3 of the previous release and testify - as the composer Arrigo Boito reminds us - to a great intelligence gained through years of performances and studying of the great German quartets, an experience that allowed him to remain, unlike many contemporaries, independent of the dominant Italian operatic context.
