Description: An inexpensive way to familiarize yourself with the bright, optimistic and approachable early works of what many commentators call the last heir of Debussy. The piano sonata (1946-48) is probably his best known work, full of color and character while the other three are on a smaller scale but each masterfully designed to exploit the special characters of the three wind instruments involved.
