Description: Here's something you don't see too often: a respected independent label giving a 23-year-old pianist an entire 68-minute disc for performing his own transcriptions of Russian orchestral music. Four pieces from Swan Lake, the entire Romeo and Juliet tone-poem, three pieces from Aleko but note that Noack deals with themes from each of Sheherezade's four movements - he does not transcribe the whole huge work (21 minutes instead of the 40-44 min. which most orchestral recordings take). Florian Noack (piano).
