Description: These suites of short pieces for viola and piano (first recording of Kreuz' arrangement of Reinecke's violin original; the other two sets have one other recording each) are mostly of the "Songs without Words" variety, especially the Kalliwoda (1851) and the Sitt (1895) in which memorable melody falls from the strings and keys like rain from above, the former more long-breathed than Sitt but the latter conceding nothing in charm.
