Description: Premiere recordings of everything but the rather well-known bandoneón concerto. The biggest (and earliest - 1951) work is the Sinfonia, a three-movement piece of 26 minutes inspired by Ginastera's stylistic model for the fusion of nationalistic Argentine folk elements with current European harmonic and rhythmic procedures. The "Buenos Aires Four Seasons" (1965-69) will also appeal to symphonic collectors of Argentine/tango-inspired music in its 1989 arrangement for full symphony orchestra by noted film composer Franzetti. Juan José Mosalini (bandoneón), Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen; Gabriel Castagna.
