Description: Published between 1898 and 1915, these chamber works by a composer who was almost as good at pumping out solo piano music as his younger brother Xaver are examples of how backward-looking and conservative the majority of composers in Germany still were at a time when Mahler and Schoenberg were flexing their modernist muscles. Much beautifully melodic stuff here for those of you who enjoyed the two MD&G discs from the 1990s of works from the same time period. Laurent Albrecht Breuninger (violin), Lise Berthaud (viola), Oliver Triendl (piano).
