ANTONI RUTKOWSKI (1859-1884): Piano Trio in G Minor, Op. 13, Violin Sonata in C Minor, Op. 5.
Catalogue Number: 05P052
Label: Acte Préalable
Description: This physically frail student of Noskowski, to die of tuberculosis, wrote very robust and spirited music, the 1878 trio full of life and energy if not entirely at grips with form (three fast movements) while the 1882 sonata channels the same optimistic fervor into a four-movement form which is fully up to date with the latest Romantic developments. Rutkowski wrote around 30 pieces so we may hear more from this source. Pawel Kuklinski (violin), Tadeusz Samerek (cello), Maciej Ganski (piano), Rafal Lewandowski (piano - sonata).
