Description: I know that Griffes' piano works are rather well-taken care of these days on disc but the Winter Landscape, a late Romantic effusion of early but uncertain date and the Preludes, his last piano works, remain somewhat rare. In addition, now that this major American pianist is making new recordings for Hyperion, it just seemed like the thing to offer. Garrick Ohlsson (piano).
