Description: Three of the usual suspects for a disc like this and... the World Premiere Recording of the four-hand version of the 1882-84 Orchestral Suite No. 1 (an orchestral score also exists minus the third movement so maybe, as with the early Symphony in B Minor, we'll get to hear that version soon also). In four movements (Fête, Ballet, Rêve and Cortège et Bacchanale), it shows some influences from Massenet (who wrote several stand-alone orchestral suites), Delibes and Lalo while also experimenting with the idea of constantly evolving form, modifying repeated material instead of straightforwardly repeating it. 26 minutes we'd love to hear in orchestral guise.
