Description: Produced in 1796, this score is full of revolutionary fervor, Republicanism and the exaltation of duty and honor. Pomp, spectacle and massed battle scenes are the norm, the tender love duets between the leads welcome pre-Romantic interludes amongst the brazen tumult.
