Description: Annibali was a star castrato who spent much of his 25-year career in Dresden where he was especially associated with Hasse but, as this collection shows, plenty of other well- and less well-known composers as well. In this recording Ferri-Benedetti uses a range of three octaves from baritone to mezzo-soprano, as some castrati often liked to do. Italian-English texts. Flavio Ferri-Benedetti (countertenor), Il Basilico; Eva Saladin.
