Description: Toward the end of his life, the Bohemian composer published several collections of all kinds of music from throughout his career. Generally this bonanza of material falls into two types best demonstrated by the vocal and harpischord works: the lieder are brief, mostly pastoral-lyrical in nature and aimed at the amateur singer while the cantata and two sacred arias with orchestra demand operatic voices. Likewise, the keyboard sonatas are virtuosic with much of the Sturm und Drang in the fast movements and empfindsam stil in the slow ones while the brief sonatinas are all melodic, galant lightness. 6 CDs.
