Description: This will be the 5th NAJI HAKIM PLAYS NAJI HAKIM organ CD released by SIGNUM Classics (visit https://signumrecords.com/product-category/artists/naji-hakim/) . It will include the following world premiere recordings of Naji Hakim's works at the historic STAHLHUTH-JANN ORGAN at St Martin’s Church, Dudelange , Grand-Duché de Luxembourg : Gregoriana (2003) - Bogurodzica (2018) – Prière (2020) - Villancico aragonés (2018) - Carnaval (2014) - Sindbad (2014) - Korean Prelude (2014) - Cantilena (2016) - Trois Paraphrases sur Ave maris stella (2003) - O sacrum convivium (2018) - Tanets (2019). We welcomed several of his previous Signum releases in glowing terms such as: "Lebanese-French composer-organist Hakim has consistently produced works in a most appealing, thoroughly accessible style. He draws on the modes of the folk music of Lebanon to a limited extent, incorporating this into a crisp neoclassical, tonal vocabulary." and "This disc of sacred and secular works is split 60-40 in favor of the sacred, but with Hakim, that never means anything stodgily Germanic. Using every possible color (it seems) on this brand-new organ in Copenhagen's new concert hall, he paints bright and joyful pictures whether he's basing his music on chorales or hymns or on Danish or Lebanese folk music. His descriptions of the sacred pieces are not unlike those Messiaen wrote for some of his - the joyous splendor of Christian belief is hard to dismiss - but the music is far more immediately approachable".
