Description: It’s all warmth and Spanish-tinged color in Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s 1937 Concertino, in which the composer, inspired by a meeting with Segovia five years before, was influenced to the point of giving the harp the timbre of the guitar in its final movement; odd that it’s so little recorded. Turina’s nine-minute set of variations (1945) uses the musical sounds of his native Andalusia with a surprising touch of jazz from the orchestra in the second of its three sections. Naoko Yoshino (harp), Orchestre d’Auvergne; Roberto Forés Veses.
