Description: "Complete Organ Works" says the cover but there are several items on the Naxos release below which are not here (six fugues not in Falck's listing not all of which he considered to spurious, though, and one that is - Fk. 36), while this disc has two early Fantasies, which are as close as we're likely to get to Bach's renowned improvisational style, and the late (1779) 8 Fugues, Fk.31, that are not on the Naxos disc (perhaps the latter aren't there since Bach's title was "for the keyboard or the organ") and which intriguingly blend the polyphonic art of his father with galant and Empfindsamkeit styles of the younger generation. Friedhelm Flamme (Hillebrand organ of Münsterkirche St. Aleandri zu Einbeck). SACD hybrid.
