Description: The Fantasia - an unfinished 18-minute work from Balakirev's 15th year, just appeared on Toccata Classics for the first time in August of 2007. The equally unfinished first concerto and the bizarrely historied second (first movement written in 1862, second in 1906 and the third completed after Balakirev's death) are equally full of Romantic bravura, rich orchestration and brilliant solo writing.
