Catalogue Number: 02T006
Label: Ars Produktion

Description: Eberwein spent his last 14 years, when all the works here were written, as kapellmeister at the court of Rudolstadt, south of Weimar. These are full-sized pieces, the overture 11 minutes and the concerto and symphony both around 32 minutes long. Although Mozart and Beethoven are the obvious models the slow introductions to the overture and the symphony anticipate the early Romanticism of Schumann and his generation. These recordings were made in 1994 but there is no indication of a previous commercial release. Does anyone know differently? Thüringian Chamber Orchestra Weimar; Max Pommer.
