Description: First CD appearance for Nin-Culmell's 1946 concerto, a concise, three-movement work which follows in the tradition of Falla and Spanish folk music (with Gregorian elements in its slow movement) and which is even shorter than the somewhat better-known (mostly thanks to Alicia de Larrocha's Decca recording) Montsalvatge "Short" concerto - a dazzling work with a bit more of a cosmopolitan aspect. And there's also the thrill of risking arrest by the Bush Administration for listening to, and paying for, a disc recorded by a Cuban orchestra! (Just kidding. I think...)
