Description: What with cpo's theoretical complete series (no second volume has appeared since the first one appeared four years ago) and Challenge Classics complete set of violin-and-piano works four months ago and various other labels who've recorded one or two of these pieces, it would seem that you might not need this one. But, if you're a completist, this contains the First CD Recording of the 1967 second solo violin sonata, a 16-minute series of seven etudes which are in the experimental mode Weinberg adopted in the 60s, perhaps inspired by Britten's cello suite or by some of the modernism coming out of Poland.
