PAUL HINDEMITH (1895-1963): 41 pieces for 2 Violins from Geigen-Schulwerk, 2 Sonatas for Solo Violin, Op. 31, Nos. 1 & 2.

Description: Remember Bartók's 44 Duos for two violins? They were written in 1931 for the "Geigen-Schulwerk" for editors Erich and Elma Doflein; this violin method for beginners was unusual in its containing original works rather than second-rate exercises. Well, these 41 duos by Hindemith were written for the same project, only they were never reprinted until 2009 when they appeared in a complete Hindemith Edition.
