Description: This well-packed reissue from an obscure Greek label contains music of Hollywood film-score richness and color, whether orchestrated by Kalomiris himself (Minas the Rebel of 1940 and Valiant Woman of 1943, both strongly descriptive of their literary sources), Pierné (who orchestrated the first piano Rhapsody in 1925) or conductor Fidetzis whose 1987-88 orchestration of the second piano Rhapsody employs Pierné's Impressionistic-cum-Late Romantic palette to dazzling effect. Russian State Symphonic Capella; Byron Fidetzis. Original 2000 Phormigx release.
