Description: Hardly ever recorded (Kontrapunkt in 1993 is the last one), Lange-Müller’s 1898 trio is a perfect early (yes, early) Romantic work that could have been written 50 years earlier - controlled emotion that wants to surge but manages to contain itself, lovely melodies, rhythmically catchy, utterly captivating. Also rare is the 15-year-old Langgaard’s nine-minute exercise in slow motion ultra-Romanticism, as weird in its way (given its date) as some of his latter manic utterances. Danish Piano Trio.
