Description: These short masses range from 10-19 minutes in length, dispensing with the Credo, and are all for high voices (performed here by boys and girls of ages 11-15). Appealingly gentle and suffused with light, all three French masses contrast with the more virile Britten and the vivacious, lyrical, harmonically rich and highly rhythmic Leighton of 1980 of which this is the world premiere recording. William Whitehead (organ), La Maîtrise de Toulouse; Mark Opstad.
