Description: The first of four volumes which proceed chronologically. There was very little piano music written in Finland until the mid 19th century but there are a few example of it here from Byström and Lithander. Even then, much of what was written was for the parlors of amateurs; Flodin was the first to write significant piano pieces. Ten of the 25 total tracks here are listed as first recordings. Jouni Somero (piano).
