Description: One of consecutive Tactus releases which may not have been formally released in the U.S., this one brings us a publication of 1608 in which 12 ricercare - one in each of the ecclesiastical modes - are coupled with 15 canzone of popular origin. A few of the ricercare anticipate in their formal construction the Capricci of Frescobaldi and the preludes of Buxtehude.
