Description: Mulet studied with Guilmant, Widor and Vierne and was organist at several Paris churches until 1937 when, devastated by financial losses, he burned many of his manuscripts and moved to the southwest of France. This is why he is so little-known, no doubt, but his dozen Esquisses (1914-1919) which are a kind of aural tour of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica give us a clear picture of conservative form but appealing harmonies which move between Debussy, Wagner and Vierne. 2 CDs. Friedhelm Flamme (Mühleisen organ of the Abbey Church of Bad Gandersheim).
