Description: Anyone who enjoys contemporary guitar music will enjoy this budget-priced bonus box. Everything here is tonal and the five Gilardino sonatas are quite melodic too, the closest to the romantic image of the Mediterranean (or, more narrowly, the Spanish) guitar composition. Biberian's heritage helps add touches of Armenia and Turkey to his four sonatas and Cavallone's group spread their homages widely with his fourth being the only piece here that's a bit on the avant-garde side. 5 CDs. Cristiano Porqueddu (guitar).
